Lips Fillers

Lip enhancement is used to improve the appearance of thin, aged or asymmetrical lips. Over time, we lose volume in our lips, fine lines mean they’re no longer smooth, and the lip borders and Cupid’s bow are less well defined. Lip enhancement can improve vertical lines above or around the lips (sometimes called smokers’ lines or lipstick lines), Thinning lip volume – lips look less full or plump compared to previously, and loss of definition to the edges of your lips.

Lip fillers are non-invasive cosmetic injections, that are designed to improve your appearance and fight signs of ageing. Available at Aesetica, they can be used to eliminate wrinkles and folds around the mouth and add volume to the lips – creating a plump, youthful and defined look.

They also offer a wide range of other benefits. For example, lip filler injections:

  • Are a safe, temporary alternative to permanent lip injections.
  • Have quick and impressive results.
  • Cause little discomfort, both during and after the procedure.
  • Are a cost-effective and affordable option for most.

We also offer a procedure called a, “Lip Flip” at Aestetica. During a lip flip procedure, one of our aesthetic practitioner injects Botox into parts of your upper lip. After about a week, the injections make your lip look fuller or “poutier” without adding any volume to your lip. Lip flips generally look more natural than lip fillers.

As we get older, faint lines start to appear around the mouth. Collagen production also begins to slow down – drying out the skin and gradually making the lips thinner and more prone to wrinkles.

Essentially, lip fillers aim to reverse these effects. Injected under the skin, the gel helps to restore lost volume – plumping up the lips and smoothing out any fine lines and wrinkles. What’s more, Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a fantastic hydrator. It can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water and, as a result, it helps to moisturise the skin and creates a smooth, revitalised look.

This varies from person-to-person. HA is broken down naturally by the body and the rate at which it does so will depend on your body’s unique metabolism. But to give you an idea – the effects of lip filler injections can be usually be seen immediately and they last for 6-12 months on average.

A treatment with lip fillers is a very low-risk and non-invasive option for increasing lip volume or emphasizing the lip contour. The procedure takes about 20 minutes and the effects can last 6-8 months.

Our high-quality dermal filler product contains a local anaesthetic – lidocaine that works after the first injection and numbs the lips for a more comfortable experience. In addition, clients can also choose to use a numbing cream for a pain-free experience before the treatment begins. Even a small amount of lip filler can achieve effective improvements and lead to beautiful results.

Lip fillers can also help to create the desired lip shape. By applying the correct injection technique and modelling, our aesthetic practitioner is able to correct asymmetrical lip shapes, straighten crooked lips safely and gently, and restore or refine a blurred or elapsed lip contour. An additional benefit of using filler is the reduction of upper lip wrinkles.

  • Add extra volume and definition in the lip area.
  • Enhance the natural shape and plumpness.
  • Reduce smoker’s lines & wrinkles around the mouth.
  • See immediate results.

A numbing cream will be used for 20 minutes prior to the procedure to help minimise any initial discomfort. The injection itself also contains lidocaine (numbing) within the product to ease pain of injection. This treatment is non-invasive with minimal downtime. You can continue your normal daily activity straight after, however, you must avoid applying any makeup to the treated area to help prevent infection.

Absolutely. Lip fillers are an established and approved treatment, that have been used worldwide for many years. Some temporary side effects can occur (e.g. redness, swelling, bruising) and, like with any cosmetic procedure, there are a few risks. However, providing they are given by an experienced and qualified therapist – Such as those at Aestetica, they’re perfectly safe.

It is important to avoid touching your lips for at least 6 hours after treatment. As the skin around the lips is very thin and full of blood vessels, some bruising and swelling may be a side effect. This will fade in a few days. Excess sun exposure, solariums and saunas should be avoided on the skin for one week after your treatment.
